Maintenance Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Kansas City, Missouri.
Overview
The Maintenance Technician provides electrical and mechanical support for the buildings at a client campus. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and general building upkeep.
Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing preventive and repair work orders on facility mechanical, plumbing, and other installed systems and equipment.
- Conduct facility inspections, report conditions impacting client occupancy and operations.
- Perform interior maintenance tasks such as light plumbing, hanging pictures, repairing furniture, replacing ceiling tiles, and door repairs.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment, move office furniture and equipment as needed.
- Set up conference rooms and event spaces as required.
- Assist the electrician with light electrical work and lighting support.
- Clean HVAC coils, change filters and belts, and support HVAC technicians.
- Complete hazard assessments and ensure safety procedures are followed.
- Maintain compliance with local laws, ordinances, and safety policies.
Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical work in a commercial setting.
- Experience troubleshooting and performing preventive maintenance on HVAC equipment.
- Experience using volt meters.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb up to 30 ft ladders.
- Must be able to perform physical tasks such as climbing, bending, kneeling, lifting, and driving.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience using CMMS work order system (Corrigo).
- EPA Universal certification.
The work environment involves first shift hours from Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with occasional after-hours work required. The position requires physical activity including climbing, bending, and lifting.
