Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Lewiston, Idaho.

Overview

The maintenance technician supports operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in assigned facilities. The role involves performing inspections, repairs, and general maintenance tasks to ensure safe and efficient building operations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts
  • Assist the operations team in maintenance and repair of building and equipment
  • Perform general interior maintenance such as hanging pictures and repairing office furniture
  • Perform minor plumbing repairs
  • Complete tasks including painting, locksmith work, tenant service requests, and other maintenance as assigned
  • Move office furniture, machinery, and equipment as needed
  • Conduct facility inspections and report conditions affecting client occupancy and operations
  • Be on call for after-hours emergencies
  • Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment
  • Ensure compliance with relevant ordinances, codes, and policies
  • Participate in ongoing training programs
  • Document work performance and materials procurement
  • Work independently or as part of a team, taking on other operational tasks as needed

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of applicable experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and electrical work
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs., climb ladders up to 30 ft, and perform physical tasks such as bending and kneeling
  • Excellent communication skills in English, both oral and written

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of an applicable technical training program

The shift is typically Monday through Friday, with hours around 7AM to 4PM or 8AM to 5PM, with some flexibility. The role requires on-call duties for after-hours emergencies, and involves moving between sites with a provided company vehicle and tools. Physical demands include long-distance driving, climbing ladders, and lifting up to 80 lbs.
