Maintenance Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Overview
The maintenance technician supports building infrastructure through inspection, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. The role involves performing routine tasks to ensure operational efficiency and safety within the facility.
Responsibilities
- Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts
- Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment
- General interior maintenance – hang pictures, install keyboard trays, repair office furniture systems
- Perform minor plumbing repairs
- Complete special tasks including painting, locksmith work, tenant services requests, and general maintenance as assigned
- Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested
- Perform assigned facility inspections and due diligence efforts, reporting on conditions affecting client occupancy and operations
- Be on call for after-hours emergencies
- Comply with all safety procedures, maintain housekeeping and safety of work areas, identify and propose hazard elimination methods
- Maintain compliance with relevant ordinances, codes, and laws
- Store, use, and dispose of hazardous materials safely
- Participate in ongoing technical and safety training programs
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Document work performance and procurement activities
- Lift a minimum of 80 lbs., use ladders up to 30 ft, and demonstrate mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and drive
- Communicate effectively in English, both oral and written
- Work independently or in a team as a self-motivated individual
Qualifications
- 3+ years of applicable experience in general building repair and maintenance
- Basic plumbing and electrical skills
- Valid state driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications
- Completion of an applicable technical training program
The shift is Monday through Friday, with flexible hours generally between 7 am and 3:30 pm, and the candidate must be on call for after-hours emergencies.
