Talascend is currently seeking a Mobile Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Overview

The maintenance technician supports operation, inspection, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and kitchen equipment and systems in assigned facilities. They assist mobile engineers in maintenance and repair efforts, as well as independently performing defined tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the operations team in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment
  • Maintain kitchen equipment such as meat grinders, cubers, meat saws, slicers, etc.
  • Maintain lighting system bulbs and ballasts
  • Perform minor electrical troubleshooting and repairs
  • Troubleshoot and repair motors and pumps
  • Complete fuel center UST inspections and dispenser maintenance
  • Support maintenance and repair of building and equipment
  • Perform general interior maintenance on auto/overhead doors, food equipment, and other tasks as needed and assigned by managers
  • Perform fuel center food equipment preventive maintenance
  • Conduct plumbing repairs
  • Participate in on-call, after-hour calls as needed
  • Support a wide range of conveyors and sortation systems
  • Troubleshoot and maintain equipment such as scanners, printers, scales, networks, replacing drives in servers, and UPS equipment
  • Identify, maintain, and troubleshoot PLCs and PLC components

Qualifications

  • UST Class B Certification (JLL provided training will be provided)
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid state driver’s license
  • Minimum of one (1) year of applicable work experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 80 lbs., use ladders up to 30 ft, and possess mechanical and electrical aptitude
  • Ability to pass background, drug/alcohol, and MVR screening
