Material Coordinator

Talascend is currently seeking a Material & Build Coordinator for a contract opportunity with our client in Allen Park, Michigan.

Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to join the team as a Material & Build Coordinator. This role provides critical operational support to departments focused on prototype development, focusing on materials tracking, inventory management, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Oversee inventory levels for departments, ensuring all necessary parts and materials are available for scheduled builds.
• Maintain precise records of part movement and availability to prevent delays in the development cycle.
• Act as the central hub for work orders, ensuring they are accurately documented, assigned, and tracked through completion.
• Serve as the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for all paint material ordering, managing relationships with suppliers and ensuring correct specifications of paint materials are always on hand.
• Maintain digital and physical records, ensuring all compliance and process documentation is up-to-date and easily accessible.
• Identify opportunities to streamline material handling and tracking workflows between departments.

Qualifications

• Proven track record of showing up on time and putting in the effort to get the job done right.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and stay organized while supporting two different departments.
• Desire to learn the technical requirements of both paint and battery operations and a willingness to take feedback and grow.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to act as a liaison between technicians, engineers, and suppliers.
• Proficiency in basic office software (Excel, Outlook, etc.) and a quick learner of internal inventory management systems.
