Talascend is currently seeking a Dimensional Analysis Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Allen Park, Michigan.

Overview

The Dimensional Analysis Technician I will perform and maintain component dimensional analysis equipment and measurements, providing analysis reports to engineers. The role involves supporting project work and customer interactions while working under mentorship.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in measuring hard points and 3D laser scan data for individual components and complete assemblies using manual devices, laser scanning, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM). (60%)
  • Setup and tear down of components on surface plates. (10%)
  • Participate in interpreting technical dimensional documents. (10%)
  • Prepare technical dimensional analysis results in various formats for distribution. (10%)
  • Perform regularly scheduled calibration checks and maintenance of CMM equipment. (5%)
  • Participate in daily surface plates clean-up in preparation for upcoming projects. (5%)

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • No previous experience required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certificate in Computer Aided Design (CAD), Metrology or related.
  • 1 year of technical, automotive or related experience.
  • Strong math skills and a good understanding of geometry.
  • Knowledge of automotive components.
  • Ability to navigate and understand CAD models and PolyWorks software.
