Controls Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Controls Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Warren, Michigan.
Overview
The controls engineer will be responsible for the design, construction, integration, and ongoing support of electrical controls systems in a manufacturing environment. They will manage project milestones, troubleshoot existing systems, and support the successful launch of new equipment and processes.
Responsibilities
- Ensure alignment to project timelines and milestones
- Manage deliveries to program milestones
- Provide project report outs to senior management
- Support existing program and site operations, including troubleshooting
- Communicate effectively and collaborate with customers and plant teams
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced controls engineers
- Design and troubleshoot electrical control systems
- Develop and test advanced process technologies
- Travel as needed to support equipment startups and new program implementations
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree not required but a minimum of 5 years of experience required
- Controls manufacturing experience
- Hands-on technical experience with PLCs, HMIs, and networks
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automation and control architectures
- Knowledge of advanced control systems and robotics
