Facilities Technician - 1st Shift
Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Technician for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Morrisville, North Carolina.
Overview
The Facilities technician supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems in assigned facilities. Responsible for performing inspections, repairs, and general maintenance tasks within a class A environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform ongoing preventive maintenance and repair response work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other systems and components.
- Conduct facility inspections and report on conditions impacting client occupancy and operations.
- Perform general interior maintenance such as hanging pictures, repairing office furniture, and doors.
- Assist in the maintenance and repair of building and equipment, as directed.
- Move office furniture, machinery, and equipment as needed.
- Replace lighting and ballasts.
- Clean HVAC coils, change filters and belts.
- Complete hazard assessments and comply with all safety procedures and regulations.
- Maintain safety of work areas and practice defensive driving when applicable.
- Submit receipts daily and update work order status in real time using CMMS systems such as Corrigo.
- Perform vehicle safety inspections and escalate issues to management promptly.
- Attend work and safety meetings as required.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 1-3 years of applicable experience in general building repair and maintenance, basic plumbing, and basic electrical.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Valid state driver’s license and ability to pass background, drug/alcohol, and MVR screening.
