Electronics Testing Technician
Talascend is currently seeking an Electronics Testing Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Clearwater, Florida.
Overview
This role involves performing hands-on technical tasks related to testing advanced electronics assemblies for space and defense applications. The position includes testing, troubleshooting, fault isolation, and environmental testing of delicate circuit card assemblies, requiring attention to detail and adherence to detailed test procedures.
Responsibilities
- Perform testing, troubleshooting, and fault isolation of electronic assemblies using special test equipment.
- Conduct development tests, system integration, and acceptance tests, including environmental testing.
- Set up, program, and operate test equipment to perform acceptance test procedures.
- Handle and manipulate delicate circuit card assemblies, including lifting and fixture handling.
- Keep detailed and accurate test logs and documentation.
- Follow safety, cleanliness, and standardization protocols daily.
- Interact daily with test technicians and engineers to communicate test results and procedures.
- Maintain lab and equipment, and execute OS and process improvement tasks.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement and teamwork.
Qualifications
- Associate degree, technical degree, or equivalent military training/experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in an electronics discipline.
- Ability to read schematics, follow procedures, and troubleshoot technical problems.
- Experience with guidance and navigation electronics is a plus.
- Environmental test experience is a plus.
- Experience with general purpose test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, power supplies, DMM, and logic analyzers.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow step-by-step instructions accurately.
- Flexibility and willingness to work different shifts, including overtime and weekends as required.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to generate clear technical documentation.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior military service (USAF, USN) is a plus.
- Experience with guidance and navigation electronics is a plus.
- Environmental testing experience is a plus.
