Automotive Mechanic
Talascend is currently seeking an Automotive Mechanic for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan.
Overview
The automotive mechanic I will modify cars and trucks in a second stage manufacturing environment, performing a wide range of component removals, modifications, and installations. The role involves working under mentorship and supporting project work and customer interactions.
Responsibilities
- Perform vehicle upfits by following work instructions and build procedures.
- Remove and install mechanical and electrical system components.
- Read, interpret, and follow assembly procedures.
- Maintain vehicle records by entering required information into the build book system.
- Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance, and calling for repairs.
- Participate in daily shop organization and clean-up.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 1-2 years of previous experience required.
- Mechanical ability and ability to operate shop equipment.
- MUST have rolling toolbox.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certificate in automotive technology or related.
- National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) Certification(s).
- State mechanic certification(s).
- Valid driver’s license.
