Building Maintenance Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Building Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Overview
The operating engineer supports operation, inspection, and maintenance processes of mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing equipment and systems. The role involves performing a variety of maintenance tasks to ensure building systems operate efficiently and safely.
Responsibilities
- Complete assigned tasks including painting, pressure washing, maintaining lighting systems, plumbing, HVAC systems, water treatment, locksmith work, and general maintenance
- Maintain work order system (CMMS) daily and complete tenant service requests
- Perform assigned preventive maintenance and inspection tasks
- Support on-call or emergency response situations as applicable
- Troubleshoot all building systems including electrical, DDC, and pneumatic controls
- Comply with all safety procedures
- Participate in ongoing technical, safety, and operational training programs
- Assist with other projects and tasks as assigned
Qualifications
- 3+ years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry
- Trade school education, union training, military service, or college is desirable
- Universal CFC EPA certification or interest in achieving within the first year (with assistance)
- Experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall
- Ability to climb, bend, kneel, lift, and/or drive frequently
- Strong customer service skills
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
