Talascend is currently seeking a Design Automation Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Chandler, Arizona.

Overview

This role involves supporting design automation projects with a focus on engineering, instrumentation, and control systems, primarily in the oil and gas industry. The position requires extensive experience with design tools, project leadership, and offshore environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support design automation activities related to instrumentation and control systems.
  • Prepare instrument indexes, cable schedules, loop diagrams, junction box hookup drawings, and cable tray routing drawings.
  • Develop and review instrument installation details and prepare material take-offs.
  • Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and offshore personnel to ensure design specifications are met.
  • Assist in the development of engineering documentation and support multiple project phases.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent technical certificate.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a design specialist, including 3D design experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of design tools such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and INTools; PDMS knowledge is preferred.
  • Strong technical knowledge in instrumentation and automation systems.
  • Excellent communication and supervisory skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with offshore projects and related environments.
  • Knowledge of offshore industry standards and procedures.
  • Experience in managing multiple projects in a global environment.
