Automotive Quality Inspector
Talascend is currently seeking an Automotive Quality Inspector for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Troy, Michigan.
Overview
The automotive quality inspector is responsible for inspecting incoming and outgoing vehicles, staging vehicles, and ensuring quality standards are maintained throughout production and delivery processes. The role involves detailed defect identification, documentation, and communication with relevant teams to uphold quality standards.
Responsibilities
- Inspect incoming vehicles under LED light tunnels to identify any defects
- Mark vehicles with white crayon to note areas of defect
- Follow standard operating procedures per OEM direction when inspecting and noting flaws
- Adhere to quality inspection standards based on each program’s quality standards
- Track, analyze, and chart quality claims for paint items
- Drive, detail, and stage vehicles during low volume periods
- Support department with quality maturation data after production has launched
- Communicate all data to the quality manager in conjunction with quality management standards
- Interact with OEM supplier quality teams, ensuring professional and prompt communication
Qualifications
- High school degree or GED required
- 1-3 years of exposure to paint, inspection, or quality standards in automotive
- Valid driver’s license and ability to drive manual transmission
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Ability to multi-task and ensure follow-up and follow-through
- High degree of organization and effectiveness in a fast-paced environment
- Intermediate skills with computer applications (Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel, etc.)
- Lifting requirements: 10 – 75 lbs
- Requires moderate to high level of physical activity
