Automotive Paint Technician
Talascend is currently seeking an Automotive Paint Technician for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Troy, Michigan.
Overview
The role involves performing exterior paint work on vehicles in a low volume production setting, ensuring production standards are met and utilizing solvent-based paints for various projects.
Responsibilities
- Prepare vehicles or parts for paint application, including masking and cleaning to prevent contamination
- Check that vehicles are properly prepped and masked prior to painting
- Weigh and mix paint according to program specifications
- Apply base coat and clear coat to vehicles or components
- Perform color matching and paint blending during refinish repairs
- Complete other duties as assigned by management based on business needs
Qualifications
- Valid driver’s license
- High school diploma or GED
- At least 2 years of paint experience in a collision or aftermarket paint setting
- Ability to multi-task while ensuring follow-up and execution of tasks
- Ability to paint entire vehicles while maintaining high quality standards
- High degree of organization and efficiency in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to assist peers, teach, and demonstrate flexibility
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
