Cleanroom Sanitization Technician
Talascend is currently seeking a Cleanroom Sanitization Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Birmingham, Alabama.
Overview
The role involves supporting cleanroom sanitization activities in controlled environments, ensuring compliance with GMP and GDP standards, and maintaining proper documentation and safety practices. It also includes routine cleaning, waste disposal, inventory management, and participation in safety and organization initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support and carry out routine daily, weekly, and monthly cleanroom sanitization activities in controlled areas and related cleaning tasks in unclassified areas.
- Collect and dispose of non-hazardous waste in cleanrooms.
- Manage gowning garments and oversee their proper handling and laundering.
- Perform non-routine sanitization, cleaning, or material movement as directed by supervision.
- Input data into company systems and logbooks following good documentation practices.
- Operate basic equipment and perform routine tasks according to standard operating procedures.
- Maintain inventory, restock supplies, and communicate effectively to ensure low stock levels.
- Support safety protocols, PPE usage, and participate in safety issues resolution.
- Assist in general cleanroom manufacturing functions, organization, housekeeping, and improvement programs like 5S.
- Help with ordering cleanroom sanitization and gowning supplies as directed.
Qualifications
- Secondary / Intermediate education plus 5 GCSEs
- 0-2 years of experience in a cleanroom or laboratory environment
- Effective written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to generate and maintain clear documentation
- Basic arithmetic skills
- Ability to work in a regulated environment; GMP/GDP experience is a plus
- Ability to wear PPE, including respiratory protection
- Good interpersonal skills with attention to detail and teamwork orientation
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint (Microsoft Suite) preferred
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, grasp objects, reach, stoop, crouch, and lift up to 40 pounds
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in GMP/GDP regulated environments
- Knowledge of safety procedures and cleanroom standards
- Ability to perform fine motor manipulation and color determination
This position requires working from 4 AM to 1 PM, Monday through Friday, with additional work hours every other Saturday from 5 AM to 8 AM. No remote work is available for this role.
