Material Coordinator
Talascend is currently seeking a Material Coordinator for a contract to hire opportunity with our client in Apex, North Carolina.
Overview
The Material Coordinator is responsible for performing activities related to shipping, receiving, storing, delivering, transferring, reconciling, and cycle counting materials in accordance with cGMP procedures and regulations, across multiple systems and sites.
Responsibilities
- Execute warehouse operations related to shipping, receiving, storing, delivering, transferring, reconciling, and cycle counting materials per cGMP procedures and regulations.
- Operate Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) to move warehouse materials.
- Operate trucks (flat bed or panel) to move warehouse materials, hazardous materials, or general goods following Department of Transportation regulations.
- Practice a positive, constructive, and ambitious work environment.
- Contribute to a safe workplace culture, ensuring safety and environmental requirements are met.
- Ensure materials are received, stored, and distributed according to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and related regulations.
- Perform GMP activities following approved procedures and document them accordingly.
- Report risks and events to maintain product safety, quality, and effectiveness.
- Complete all required training prior to performing GMP activities.
- Assist in preparations for regulatory audits and inspections.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and projects.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience working within a warehouse and/or with material/inventory
- Aptitude to follow pre-determined SOPs and willingness to learn industry-specific documentation practices
- Ability to establish rapport with team members through good communication and positive attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a warehouse environment, preferably in pharmaceuticals or biotechnology
- Basic knowledge of warehouse inventory management, SAP, and Microsoft Office
- Understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) and international shipping requirements (IATA)
- Ability to carefully and accurately follow complex written procedures
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices or willingness to learn
- Knowledge of Cold Chain distribution requirements
- Ability to operate a forklift or other powered industrial vehicle
- Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills
