Material Coordinator
Talascend is currently seeking a Material Coordinator for a contract opportunity with our client in Apex, North Carolina.
Overview
The Material Coordinator will be responsible for all activities related to shipping, receiving, storing, delivering, transferring, reconciling, and cycle counting materials following cGMP procedures and regulations. This role involves operating various warehouse equipment and adhering to safety and compliance standards within a regulated environment.
Responsibilities
- Execute critical warehouse operations related to shipping, receiving, storing, delivering, transferring, reconciling, and cycle counting materials per cGMP procedures and regulations.
- Use Powered Industrial Vehicles (PIV) to move warehouse materials.
- Operate trucks (flat bed or panel) to move warehouse materials, hazardous materials, or general receiving goods following Department of Transportation regulations.
- Maintain a positive, constructive, and ambitious work environment.
- Contribute to a safe workplace culture, ensuring safety & environmental requirements are met.
- Ensure materials are received, stored, and distributed according to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Good Distribution Practices (GDP), and other applicable regulations.
- Follow GMP activities in accordance with established procedures and documentation.
- Report risks/events to ensure product safety, quality, and effectiveness are not impacted.
- Complete all required training prior to performing GMP activities.
- Assist in activities to prepare areas for regulatory audits and inspections.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, programs, and projects.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working within a warehouse and/or with material/inventory.
- Aptitude to follow pre-determined SOPs and willingness to learn industry-specific documentation practices.
- Ability to establish rapport with team members through good communication and a positive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in a pharmaceuticals or biotechnology warehouse environment.
- Basic knowledge of warehouse inventory management, SAP, and Microsoft Office.
- Understanding of Department of Transportation (DOT) and international shipping requirements (IATA).
- Ability to carefully and accurately follow complex written procedures.
- Understanding of Good Manufacturing Practices or willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of Cold Chain distribution requirements.
- Ability to operate a forklift or other powered industrial vehicles.
- Excellent attention to detail and strong documentation skills.
The shift involves either a 2nd shift schedule from 2pm to 11pm EST or a 1st shift from 6am to 5pm EST, with flexibility for schedule changes and a plan to transition to 12-hour shifts in October. Candidates should be able to lift up to 30 lbs and work in various physical positions as required.
