Senior Mechanical Design Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.
Overview
This role involves providing expert mechanical design, validation, and review of aerospace engineering drawings, ensuring compliance with industry standards and supporting product development phases.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate across engineering teams to develop solutions and systems that meet customer needs.
- Participate in product development and production support phases, mentoring less experienced engineers.
- Contribute to the evolving technical validation group within the engine and power systems organization.
- Validate aerospace engineering drawings for full definition and adherence to standards.
- Review engineering drawings and models for correct usage of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to meet design intent.
- Review engineering designs for proper use of model-based practices and standards.
- Perform model validation and assess designs for manufacturing and cost considerations.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in mechanical design.
- Deep understanding of engineering drawings using ASME Y14.5 geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
