Mechanical Design Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.
Overview
A mechanical design engineer will be responsible for imagining, designing, and developing products and systems as part of an engaged engineering team, collaborating on all phases of product development, and creating innovative solutions using CAD modeling and engineering analysis.
Responsibilities
- Imagine, design, and develop products and systems as part of a highly engaged and integrated engineering team
- Collaborate across engineering teams to create solutions and systems that meet customer needs
- Participate in all phases of product development
- Refine engineering talents in a team-based culture working with innovative products and technologies
- Collaborate in project teams to establish effective engineering solutions to complex problems
- Improve the world by working on teams that develop modern solutions to complex problems
- Design engineering using CAD based modeling
- Perform engineering analysis and weight optimization
- Design for manufacturing and cost estimation
- Produce product presentations
- Incorporate voice of customer feedback into designs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
- 6+ years of mechanical design and engineering experience with NX and Teamcenter
- Experience in engine or APU design
- Proven application of ASME Y14.5 drawing standards including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), both in generating and checking drawings
