Product Liability Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Product Liability Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Plano, Texas.
Overview
This role involves performing technical analysis related to product liability for mobile devices launched in North America. The engineer will assist in developing technical reports, test procedures, and manuals, while managing multiple projects and collaborating with various teams to improve product quality and troubleshooting techniques.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily failure analysis of mobile devices related to product liability claims and safety, utilizing analytical equipment such as X-Ray/CT machines, digital microscopes, and overheating test equipment.
- Identify potential improvements to product design and repair serviceability constraints during reverse engineering analysis.
- Provide detailed analysis and reports to R&D based on findings.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to enhance repair productivity and product performance quality.
- Communicate with management and product teams to investigate defective symptoms and product conditions.
- Share troubleshooting, failure analysis, and repair techniques with repair technicians and supervisors.
- Perform scene and laboratory inspections outside the office environment.
- Use relevant technologies such as X-Ray, CT, SEM, and EDS for electronics testing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or above in electrical, mechanical, electronics engineering, or analytics.
- At least three years of experience with electronic and test equipment (X-Ray, CT, digital microscope).
- Experience in the mobile industry is preferred.
- Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize in complex environments.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications on Windows XP or NT LAN/WAN environment.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to develop relationships within and outside the company.
- Ability to gather and analyze data, prepare reports, and technical documentation.
- Demonstrated English language competency in oral and written communication.
- Ability to perform under minimal supervision, solving complex problems creatively.
- Demonstrated ability to perform duties through relevant experience, training, or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- English/Korean bilingual skills are preferred.
