Talascend is currently seeking a Mobile Maintenance Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Nashville, Tennessee.

Overview

The main function of a Mobile Engineer is to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across multiple facilities. The role requires demonstrating technical expertise in one craft area, such as electrical, HVAC, piping, or plumbing, while being multi-skilled in others.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs of mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems for the facility to ensure standards are met.
  • Travel between multiple facilities to ensure proper functioning of equipment.
  • Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventive maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, contracted maintenance, and general maintenance tasks.
  • Maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to optimize HVAC and related systems performance.
  • Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Follow safety policies for hazardous materials storage, usage, and disposal; keep the workplace clean and safe.
  • Perform periodic checks of tools and instrument inventories.
  • Monitor the quality and cost of work performed by outside contractors.
  • Adhere to all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety in work areas, and identifying hazards to propose elimination methods.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems
  • Ability to analyze mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems to determine problems and take corrective actions
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
