Assistant Project Controls Specialist
Talascend is currently seeking an Assistant Project Controls Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Walnut Creek, California.
Overview
The Assistant Project Controls Specialist will support all aspects of project controls and reporting, including project change management, cost control, progress measurement, schedule development, and schedule control. The role involves assisting with project set-up, data input, report generation, schedule development, cost management, and ensuring project compliance and quality checks.
Responsibilities
- Support project change management processes and report creation
- Assist with project set-up in enterprise planning and controls software
- Input data, maintain logs, and run reports
- Develop and maintain scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flows, and forecasts
- Review and approve purchase orders and subcontracts for proper coding
- Assist with upstream and downstream change orders
- Develop cash flows and various schedule levels
- Apply logic ties within schedules and resource load schedules
- Coordinate project schedules and prepare scheduling reports
- Update and document schedule progress, develop earned value management system
- Verify progress measurements, develop progress curves, and perform material takeoffs
- Conduct quality checks and field audits on project controls deliverables
- Perform other duties as assigned and ensure policy compliance
Qualifications
- Bachelor degree in engineering, construction management, or related field
- Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient with Microsoft Office
- OSHA 10-hour safety certification
- Ability to obtain necessary certifications
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with project controls and reporting systems
- Previous experience supporting project schedules and cost control
