Talascend is currently seeking a Scheduler Assistant for a contract opportunity with our client in Chandler, Arizona.

Overview

In this entry-level role, the scheduler assistant will support project planning and scheduling activities while developing foundational skills in schedule development, analysis, and project controls processes. The role involves working under the guidance of experienced planners and schedulers to contribute to maintaining accurate and up-to-date project schedules.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project schedules using Primavera P6 or equivalent tools
  • Support coordination with engineering, procurement, and construction teams to gather scope, logic, and activity information
  • Assist with data entry, updates, and maintenance of schedule activities, durations, and logic relationships
  • Support integration of subcontractor and vendor schedule information into the project schedule
  • Track and update schedule progress based on input from the project team
  • Assist in identifying potential schedule variances, delays, or inconsistencies
  • Support preparation of short-term lookahead schedules (e.g., 3-week or rolling lookahead)
  • Assist with preparation of basic schedule reports and progress updates
  • Perform schedule checks to help ensure data accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Participate in schedule review meetings and support documentation of discussions and action items

Qualifications

  • University degree or equivalent with 1-2 years of experience, or 5-6 years of relevant work experience
  • Industry experience, including data center, semi-conductor fab, and technology projects
  • Basic understanding of planning and scheduling concepts, with willingness to learn and develop technical skills
  • Familiarity with Primavera P6 or similar tools preferred
  • Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to learn engineering, procurement, construction, and startup processes
  • Ability to follow direction, manage tasks, and adapt to changing priorities
