Talascend is currently seeking a Project Schedule Manager for a remote, contract opportunity with our client.
Overview
This role involves supporting the development and management of project schedules for a federal IT program, including leading daily Kanban meetings, maintaining documentation, and coordinating stakeholder communication. The position requires extensive experience in project scheduling and team leadership in technical environments.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and administer the Master Project/Program Schedule for the ISS2 project, ensuring accuracy and compliance with organizational standards.
- Facilitate daily Kanban meetings using Project Planner Boards to track project milestones and deliverables.
- Support project managers and the delivery team by maintaining project documentation and status reports.
- Coordinate meetings, document action items, and follow up on outstanding tasks.
- Assist in onboarding and ensuring the suitability of team members for the project.
- Contribute to compliance efforts and organizational standards for project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Management, Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a relevant field.
- 12 years of IT experience, including 7-10 years managing IT projects related to infrastructure, operations, and service delivery.
- Demonstrated experience in defining, creating, and managing project master schedules.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary technical teams in daily Kanban meetings with Project Planner Boards.
- PMP certification (or equivalent).
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall project methodologies.
- Strong understanding of IT project lifecycle management, risk, issue, dependency, and change management.
- Effective stakeholder communication and team coordination skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting federal or civilian agency IT programs.
- Management of enterprise infrastructure modernization initiatives.
- Background in implementing service delivery improvements in complex IT environments.
- Familiarity with governance-driven reporting in federal IT contracts.
- PMI-ACP, PMI-RMP, or SAFe Agilist certifications.
- Experience working with collaboration tools such as Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, MS Project, ServiceNow, JIRA, and others.
Shift
This position follows standard, flexible work hours. Overtime may be required depending on operational needs.
