Talascend is currently seeking an Information Security Analyst for a contract opportunity with our client in Washington, District Of Columbia.

Overview

The senior security analyst supports enterprise anti-virus operations to protect workstations and servers across the agency environment. This role involves managing security policies, troubleshooting malware incidents, and ensuring compliance with security standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead day-to-day deployment and configuration of enterprise anti-virus software across required workstations and servers.
  • Administer centrally managed anti-virus policies, exceptions, and protection settings through management consoles.
  • Maintain current anti-virus signatures, DAT files, and engine updates to ensure endpoint protection.
  • Execute scheduled scans, updates, and health checks to verify protection status.
  • Operate and optimize centralized anti-virus management platforms to enforce controls.
  • Support testing and rollout of anti-virus policy or agent changes.
  • Troubleshoot complex malware and endpoint security incidents, performing root-cause analysis.
  • Coordinate with support teams for quick incident resolution and service restoration.
  • Document actions and resolution details in workflow systems in line with support processes.
  • Support vulnerability tracking and remediation activities related to endpoint protection controls.
  • Monitor operational metrics and provide regular reporting on security status.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies and contribute to audit readiness.
  • Recommend automation and control enhancements to improve security operations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of related experience supporting enterprise anti-virus solutions.
  • Experience with centralized anti-virus management platforms and deploying controls in workstation and server environments.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain SEC Public Trust security clearance.
  • Demonstrated experience in enterprise anti-virus administration, malware incident troubleshooting, and system health validation.
  • Proven ability to perform root-cause analysis on complex security incidents.
  • Ability to work in an on-site government environment with scheduled hours and mandatory meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting federal civilian agency IT contracts with FISMA requirements.
  • Hands-on experience integrating endpoint protection with Microsoft Intune or similar platforms.
  • Knowledge of zero-trust security implementation and endpoint controls.
  • Experience with ServiceNow ticketing workflows and SLA reporting.
  • Managing endpoint POA&M remediation and response to known vulnerabilities.
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Trellix/McAfee ePO, or Microsoft Certified: Security Operations Analyst Associate (SC-200).


The role requires on-site presence at SEC facilities in the Washington, DC metropolitan area, with no telework allowed. Standard work hours are expected, with possible participation in on-call support activities as needed.
