Electrician
Talascend is currently seeking an Electrician for a contract-to-hire opportunity with our client in McPherson, Kansas.
Overview
The electrician will perform electrical installations, preventive maintenance, and repairs within an industrial/manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with safety standards and quality guidelines while supporting various building systems and operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform and assist in identification and implementation of operational, maintenance, and repair strategies for electrical systems.
- Execute quality control audits and inspections throughout the territory, providing deficiency reports to supervisors.
- Provide technical assistance, training, and support in electrical maintenance, troubleshooting, installation, and repair work.
- Perform hands-on repair and maintenance on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, building automation, lighting, electrical, card access, and other relevant systems.
- Complete electrical repairs and maintenance on commercial building systems including HVAC, emergency power, transfer switches, UPS generators, life safety, and building automation systems.
- Recognize, assess, and mitigate risks related to energized work, working at heights, and confined spaces, following safe work practices.
- Use proper PPE and industry-standard tools to ensure safe and effective operations.
- Support customer service principles by assessing customer needs and evaluating service satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of industrial/commercial electrical experience.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, laws, and regulations.
- Ability to effectively use computers and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency with internet navigation and web-based applications.
- Ability to use handheld electronic devices (PDA, Blackberry, cell phone, etc.).
- NFPA 70e certification.
- Knowledge of the English language, including spelling, grammar, and comprehension.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds, bend, sit, kneel, squat, stand, reach, and lay to access equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to work exposed to heat, sunlight, rain, cold, and work during day and night hours.
Preferred Qualifications
- GED or high school diploma.
- Vocation degree program or apprenticeship.
The shift for this role is Monday to Friday, 7:00 am to 3:30 pm.
