Physical Security Project Coordinator

Talascend is currently seeking a Physical Security Project Coordinator for a contract opportunity with our client in Houston, Texas.

Overview

The physical security project coordinator provides operational and administrative support for physical security initiatives across the organization. This remote role focuses on coordinating project activities, managing documentation, supporting installations and system enhancements, and serving as a communication bridge between physical security, facilities, IT, vendors, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate security projects including system upgrades, facility development, new installations, and system additions.
• Manage project schedules, action logs, and documentation repositories.
• Track risks, dependencies, issues, and deliverables.
• Support project meetings, prepare minutes, and follow up on tasks.
• Serve as a communication point between physical security, facilities, IT, vendors, and internal/external stakeholders.
• Assist in converting security requirements into actionable tasks.
• Ensure crossfunctional alignment during planning and installation phases.
• Maintain documents for security platforms such as Milestone, Salient, Control Center, OpenEye, Eagle Eye, and CCURE.
• Assist with system configuration intake, device lists, test plans, and naming conventions.
• Review submittals, documentation, and asbuilts.
• Coordinate vendor scheduling, remote testing sessions, and installation sequencing.
• Support remote commissioning and issue resolution.
• Ensure installations and system changes follow security standards.
• Support adherence to naming conventions, retention policies, and configuration baselines.

Qualifications

• 2–4+ years of experience in project coordination, project support, or program administration.
• Ability to manage schedules, action trackers, documentation repositories, and crossfunctional communication.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple concurrent tasks.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite and collaboration tools (Outlook, Advanced Excel skills, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive).
• Hands-on experience supporting or coordinating work related to physical security systems, including video management platforms, access control systems, and understanding of intrusion panels, sensors, fire alarm interfaces, and associated workflows.
• Familiarity with foundational physical security concepts and basic networking concepts such as IP addressing, PoE, VLANs, and device connectivity.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certification such as CAPM, PMP, or Lean Six Sigma Yellow/Green Belt is preferred.
• ASIS International certifications such as PSP®, indicating physical security knowledge.

Shift

This position requires occasional offhours coordination for system changes and about 5% in-person participation for coordination, vendor interactions, or teambuilding needs, along with routine engagement in video-enabled meetings to maintain effective communication and team presence.
