Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Tampa, Florida.

Overview

This role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC, refrigeration, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related equipment in assigned facilities to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency. The technician will perform repairs, inspections, and record-keeping to support safe and efficient operations across Tampa and surrounding areas.

Responsibilities

  • Perform ongoing preventive and repair work orders on facility mechanical, electrical, and other systems
  • Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC/R systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, and related equipment
  • Conduct inspections and report on conditions affecting facility operations and client occupancy
  • Utilize CMMS systems such as Corrigo for work management and update work order statuses in real time
  • Submit P-card receipts daily
  • Possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license and be available for call-in work
  • Perform other related duties as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of four (4) years of technical experience in building engineering, including HVAC/R, plumbing, electrical, and equipment repair
  • Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial or supermarket refrigeration
  • Universal CFC recovery certification or within 90 days of employment
  • Proficiency in using tech apps (phones, tablets, etc)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing CMMS (Work Order) systems
  • Knowledge of computer applications such as Word and Excel
  • Two years of trades school or documented apprenticeship in electrical systems, refrigeration, and HVAC

The position is a mobile role covering Tampa, Florida, and surrounding areas, with a standard business hours shift and on-call availability.
