Controls Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Controls Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Warren, Michigan.
Overview
The controls engineer will design and support control systems, including piping, wiring diagrams, and control panel development, while providing technical assistance during installation and start-up phases.
Responsibilities
- Engineer and design pneumatic piping diagrams.
- Engineer and design electrical wiring diagrams.
- Engineer and design hydraulic piping diagrams.
- Design electrical control panels.
- Design programmable logic controller software.
- Design programmable human machine interface (HMI) software.
- Tryout, debug, and provide start-up support for control systems.
- Provide technical support for installation of tools and equipment.
- Provide technical support for training of plant personnel.
- Travel to plant sites as required, including Up to 50% travel to Brookville, Ohio, DMAX.
- Oversee equipment installation and lead safety activities during plant visits.
- Validate equipment functionality and wiring connections during supplier visits.
- Participate in designed controlled meetings related to control systems projects.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field.
- 5-7 years of experience required; candidates with less than 5 years must hold an advanced degree in electrical engineering or similar.
- Proficient with programmable machine controls hardware and software.
- Proficient with Siemens Sinumerik One CNC controls, Siemens 840D CNC, and Rockwell.
- Familiarity with basic electrical and safety standards.
- Capable of supervision.
