Avionics Systems Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking an Avionics Systems Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.
Overview
The avionics systems engineer will be responsible for the development, systems integration, and verification of aircraft state and monitoring applications on next-generation platforms. The role requires expertise in model-based systems engineering, avionics, and embedded systems, supporting the design and integration of complex aerospace systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop and validate system and software requirements for avionics applications
- Perform systems integration and verification activities
- Design models using tools such as Simulink (preferred)
- Develop graphics using Arinc 661 standards (preferred)
- Work with aircraft sensors related to position, navigation, and other systems
- Interface with aircraft systems such as flaps, gear, cabin pressure, and FADEC
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science
- Experience in systems/software requirements development, validation, and verification
- Experience with model-based system design, preferably using Simulink
- Experience with Arinc 661 graphics development, preferably using Scade
- Experience working with sensors for aircraft position and navigation systems (Air Data, AHRS, GPS)
- Must be a US person
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
