Talascend is currently seeking a HVAC Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

Overview

The HVAC Maintenance Technician role involves performing maintenance, repairs, and inspections of HVAC and facility systems across multiple locations. The position requires technical expertise in HVAC systems and general maintenance to ensure optimal facility operation.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, monitoring, and repairs of mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems for facilities.
  • Travel between multiple facilities, ensuring proper functioning of all systems.
  • Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, inventory control, and contracted maintenance.
  • Clean, inspect, calibrate, and replace parts of HVAC equipment to ensure peak performance.
  • Record readings and make adjustments to ensure proper operation of equipment.
  • Follow safety protocols for handling hazardous materials and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
  • Monitor quality and costs of maintenance work performed by external contractors.
  • Ensure compliance with safety procedures and recognize potential hazards, suggesting elimination methods.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-4 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
  • Ability to analyze HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical system operation and troubleshoot issues.
  • Working knowledge of computer applications including Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.

Preferred Qualifications

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification.

Shift is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm.
