Pipe Stress Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Pipe Stress Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Overview
This role involves performing pipe stress analysis for LNG piping systems, supporting critical project activities, and ensuring design compliance with industry standards. The engineer will contribute to project support, backlog reduction, and accelerating deliverables within an engineering team.
Responsibilities
- Perform pipe stress analysis for LNG piping systems using Bentley AutoPIPE and PRG tools, including FEPipe and NozzlePro, with primary responsibility for the Commonwealth MCHE Module project and subsequent support for additional active projects.
- Analyze and evaluate piping loads on equipment shells, nozzles, and associated reinforcement pads.
- Ensure all designs and analyses comply with ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code, project requirements, and engineering standards.
- Deliver engineering outputs in alignment with established project schedules, milestones, and revenue objectives.
- Support backlog reduction efforts and help stabilize overall engineering workload across the pipe stress team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of pipe stress analysis experience, preferably in LNG or related industries.
- Proficiency with Bentley AutoPIPE, FEPipe, and NozzlePro tools.
- Strong understanding of ASME B31.3 Process Piping Code and industry standards.
- Ability to analyze complex piping systems and evaluate loads on equipment components.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting LNG projects or working within a project team environment.
- Familiarity with reinforcement pads design and equipment shell analysis.
- Experience with project scheduling and backlog management.
