Engineering Technician
Talascend is currently seeking an Engineering Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Greenville, South Carolina.
Overview
The role involves supporting utility distribution design work, performing field inspections, engineering design, and providing technical support during construction. The position requires collaboration with various stakeholders and adherence to engineering standards, ensuring quality and timely delivery of designs.
Responsibilities
- Review work provided by the client and assess requirements of scopes
- Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews
- Conduct root cause analysis of outages and mitigation using engineering principles and design
- Travel to sites as needed to perform inspections and gather field data
- Perform engineering design work based on collected data and assessments
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associates Degree or higher in engineering technology or related field preferred
- Willingness to perform both field and office work
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work in outdoor environments with some field work required
- Valid US driver’s license for local and regional travel
- Willingness to travel approximately 80% locally and regionally
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
Preferred Qualifications
- Power/Utilities industry experience
- Previous experience with field data collection
This is an on-site position with standard work hours of 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday. There is typically no overtime expected or required.
