Talascend is currently seeking an Automotive Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Livonia, Michigan.

Overview

This role involves performing automotive technician duties within a dynamic and technically advanced environment. The position offers opportunities to work on cutting-edge projects involving off-road military vehicles, autonomous vehicles, and electric vehicles.

Responsibilities

  • Perform automotive repair and maintenance tasks according to written procedures and safety standards.
  • Utilize personal tools and a rolling tool box to complete assigned work.
  • Apply technical knowledge to diagnose and repair a variety of vehicles and systems.
  • Ensure high-quality workmanship with attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Follow instructions precisely and work efficiently to meet production goals.
  • Maintain reliable attendance and be open to overtime and weekend work as needed.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 3 years' automotive technician or mechanic experience, or equivalent military experience.
  • Own tools with a rolling tool box.
  • Well-rounded technician/mechanical experience and knowledge.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and execute written procedures.
  • High level of motivation, urgency, and enthusiasm to learn.
  • Reliable attendance and willingness to work overtime and weekends.

Preferred Qualifications

  • State/ASE certifications.
  • Experience working with electric vehicles.
