Gas Turbine Performance Engineer
Talascend is currently seeking a Gas Turbine Performance Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Phoenix, Arizona.
Overview
This role involves developing and maintaining thermodynamic models for gas turbine engines, with a focus on steady-state and transient performance modeling using NPSS software. The engineer will contribute to the performance and operability analysis for aerospace turbomachinery in a collaborative and technical environment.
Responsibilities
- Build, debug, refine, and maintain steady state and transient thermal models using NPSS (Numerical Propulsion System Simulation)
- Develop NPSS customer models
- Foster productive knowledge transfer of NPSS modeling techniques
- Perform requirements analysis and requirements decomposition
- Communicate effectively to leadership, customers, and peers including presentations and technical reports
- Work collaboratively across cross-functional disciplines and teams
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, or engineering
- 7 years of experience with turbine engine performance and operability modeling and analysis
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education
