Talascend is currently seeking an Equipment Operator for a contract opportunity with our client in Birmingham, Alabama.

Overview

The role involves operating basic equipment, executing routine operational tasks, and supporting equipment installation, maintenance, and repair activities while adhering to detailed instructions and safety protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Operate basic equipment and carry out routine tasks following strict, detailed instructions.
  • Assist with equipment and appliance installation by preparing and providing necessary support.
  • Support maintenance and repair activities according to established procedures.
  • Follow quality standards and safety protocols, including use of personal protective equipment.
  • Participate in onsite interviews and training sessions as required.
  • Work within established settings or parameters and adhere to safety and environmental regulations.

Qualifications

  • Secondary / Intermediate education (2 GCSEs)
  • Experienced practitioner able to work unsupervised
  • Elementary verbal communication skills
  • Ability to interpret policies and procedures with guidance
  • Experience in planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks under supervision
  • Fundamental understanding of safe systems of work and risk management
  • Ability to develop and review reports at an elementary level
  • Knowledge of regulation compliance and operational standards
  • Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with equipment installation or maintenance
  • Familiarity with safety testing and physical assessments
