Talascend is currently seeking a Construction Project Manager for a contract opportunity with our client in Orange County, California.

Overview

This role involves managing and executing construction projects for existing facilities, ensuring safety, compliance, and schedule adherence. The project primarily focuses on contractor and project management within a chemical-related environment, requiring onsite presence in Orange County, CA.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage project plans, milestones, and deliverables, including scope requirements, cost/budget adherence, schedule management, risk mitigation, and quality control.
  • Ensure strict adherence to schedule, budget, quality, and safety standards for assigned projects.
  • Provide project updates to teams, customers, and management to facilitate effective planning and oversight.
  • Monitor construction activities regularly, hold status meetings, and perform periodic inspections of construction sites.
  • Assist with customer security approval processes related to project construction and facilities.
  • Schedule and lead project meetings/teleconferences, ensuring compliance with standards and safety procedures.
  • Prepare and present progress reports on project costs and schedules at required intervals.
  • Build strong relationships with subcontractors and third parties, communicating effectively to resolve issues and support project goals.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving and decision-making skills, developing solutions to critical issues and presenting alternatives.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in construction science, civil engineering, or related field
  • At least 5 years of experience managing construction projects, including commercial and industrial manufacturing projects in complex environments
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • On-site daily in Orange County, CA
  • Must be a US person due to export compliance
  • Experience in construction supervision and management
  • Industrial construction experience involving manufacturing facilities, relocations, or large moves
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, scheduling)
  • Strong analytical skills to assess project progress and identify technical issues

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional engineering (P.E.) license
  • Aerospace manufacturing construction experience
  • Project management professional (PMP) certification
  • Experience with transformational projects in manufacturing environments
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective team and stakeholder communication

The shift for this role is 2nd shift, from 4 pm to 12 am.
