Talascend is currently seeking a Mobile Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Nashville, Tennessee.
Overview
The main function of a Mobile Engineer is to operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across multiple facilities, demonstrating expertise in various craft areas such as electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, or central utility plant operations.
Responsibilities
- Perform maintenance, monitor, and repair mechanical, plumbing, structural, furniture, fire, life safety, and control systems to keep systems up to standards.
- Travel between multiple facilities to ensure their proper functioning.
- Maintain responsibility for facility services, preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and contracted maintenance.
- Maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to optimize HVAC system performance.
- Record readings and adjust equipment as needed for proper operation.
- Comply with safety policies regarding hazardous materials and maintain a clean, safe workplace.
- Perform periodic checks of tool and instrument inventory.
- Monitor quality and costs of work performed by outside contractors.
- Follow all safety procedures and recognize hazards to prevent accidents.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 2-4 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems.
- EPA 608 Type II Certification.
- Working knowledge of Word and Excel.
- Valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications
- EPA 608 Universal Certification.
- Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC.
This is a standard shift from 8am to 4:30pm. The position is based in the Nashville area, with potential coverage within a two-hour radius, most commonly within an hour.
