Talascend is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Florence, Kentucky.

Overview

The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in operating, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility equipment across multiple sites. The position requires technical expertise in one craft area such as electrical, HVAC, piping/plumbing, or central utility plant operations, with the ability to be multi-skilled in others.

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and monitor repairs of mechanical, plumbing, structural, fire, life safety, and control systems to ensure they meet applicable standards.
  • Travel between multiple facilities to ensure proper function of equipment and systems.
  • Maintain responsibility for facility services including preventative maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, contracted maintenance, and general upkeep.
  • Maintain equipment by cleaning, inspecting, calibrating, and replacing parts to optimize performance levels of HVAC systems and related equipment.
  • Record readings and make necessary adjustments to ensure proper operation of all equipment.
  • Follow departmental policies for the safe storage, usage, and disposal of hazardous materials, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Perform periodic checks on tools and instrument inventory.
  • Monitor the quality and cost of outside contractor work related to maintenance services.
  • Adhere to safety procedures, maintain good housekeeping, and recognize and address safety hazards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in maintaining and repairing commercial building systems
  • Ability to analyze and troubleshoot various mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems in commercial or industrial settings
  • EPA 608 Type II Certification
  • Proficiency in computer applications including Word and Excel
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • EPA 608 Universal Certification
  • Two years of trades schooling in electrical system design, refrigeration, and HVAC
