Talascend is currently seeking a Subcontract Management Specialist for a contract opportunity with our client in Clay, New York.
Overview
This role involves participating in subcontract formation and administration, ensuring compliance with project requirements through effective management and communication. The specialist will support subcontract processes from bid request to contract execution, working closely with project teams and stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Implement the supply chain assignment schedule and follow standard work process procedures for subcontract management
- Gather and compile support data for document preparation and subcontract management
- Assist subcontract managers in completing tasks outlined by the management guidebook, procedures, and automated systems
- Monitor areas of subcontract performance and conduct investigations into specific issues
- Organize materials for meetings, presentations, and training sessions; prepare periodic status reports
- Work with digital supply chain and automation tools
- Involved in the formation and awarding of small value, routine-type subcontracts
- Assist with negotiations and develop subcontracts and service agreements
- Receive and evaluate bids, prepare commercial bid summaries, and recommend awards
- Prepare and maintain subcontract documents and control reports
- Organize meetings such as pre-bid, bid clarification, and pre-award to ensure contractual clarity among all parties
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 5-8 years of relevant experience or 9-12 years of relevant work experience
- Extensive knowledge of contract law, subcontract pricing, pre-award negotiations, drafting, and administration
- Ability to conduct market research, pre-qualify bidders, and prepare bidders’ lists
- Experience leading negotiations, preparing award recommendations, and finalizing subcontract documents
- Working knowledge of engineering/construction subcontracting practices, regulations, and industry standards
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Self-motivated, curious, and enjoys challenges, with good presentation and analytical skills
- Experience on large-scale projects
- Familiarity with digital supply chain systems and automation tools
- Full-time onsite availability
- Preference for experience in semiconductor, data center, or life sciences sectors
