Talascend is currently seeking a Warehouse Material Handler for a contract opportunity with our client in Torrance, California.
Overview
This role involves handling and moving materials within a warehouse or storage facility, utilizing equipment such as hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, and conveyors to support logistics operations.
Responsibilities
- Loads and unloads materials within a warehouse or storage facility.
- Utilizes handling equipment like hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other tools to move materials to and from aircraft, trucks, trains, and within the storage area.
- Adheres to instructions and detail-oriented safety procedures, following pre-established warehouse guidelines.
- Demonstrates technical savvy by learning and navigating proprietary SAP programs.
- Operates primarily during Monday-Thursday from 1pm to 9:30pm, and on Fridays from 12pm to 8:30pm.
- Requires physical stamina to lift up to 35 pounds and remain on feet for extended periods.
- Works under close supervision, relying on instructions and guidelines, with minimal independent judgment needed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 0-2 years of related experience in warehouse or logistics operations.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting up to 35 pounds.
- Familiarity with safety and warehouse procedures.
- Comfortable learning new systems such as SAP.
- Strong attention to detail and self-motivation.
