Talascend is currently seeking a Manufacturing Process Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Overview

This role involves developing and improving manufacturing processes, supporting product development activities, and ensuring process robustness to meet business and product goals. The engineer will also analyze data, create documentation, and communicate effectively with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate designs for manufacturability improvements and implement changes
  • Develop robust processes that drive product and business goals
  • Test products and perform failure analysis using formal processes
  • Pull data, analyze, and publish results
  • Create documentation and communicate project status to leadership
  • Train factory personnel as part of transition activities
  • Support day-to-day process improvement and development activities
  • Coordinate with subject matter experts and track key project actions and milestones
  • Travel within US and/or internationally up to 10%

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering (materials science, physics, chemistry, chemical engineering, electrical engineering, or mechanical engineering)
  • Must be a US citizen due to program security requirements
  • Ability to obtain a secret clearance
  • 1.5 years professional experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with inertial instruments
  • Self-motivated individuals who can work independently
  • Mastery of design tools such as MiniTab, Access, MS Office Suite
  • Six Sigma certification and demonstrated use of its tools
  • Previous program experience & success
  • Ability to convey complex messages clearly for diverse audiences
