Talascend is currently seeking an Operating Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in St. Louis, Missouri.
Overview
The Operating Engineer is responsible for operating, inspecting, and maintaining mechanical, HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems in a large office/life science building, working as part of a team to ensure optimal building performance and safety.
Responsibilities
- Complete tasks such as painting, pressure washing, lighting maintenance, plumbing, HVAC servicing, water treatment, locksmith work, and general repairs within licensing permissions
- Assist in supervising and implementing the preventative maintenance program
- Maintain work order system and complete tenant service requests
- Support training and supervision to enhance team capabilities
- Respond to on-call or emergency situations as needed
- Troubleshoot electrical, control, pneumatic, and other building systems
- Follow safety procedures and participate in ongoing technical training
- Perform other assigned tasks and projects
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of related work experience in repair, maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or carpentry
- Trade school education, union training, military service, or college preferred
- Universal CFC EPA certification or willingness to obtain within the first year
- Leadership or supervisory experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and climb ladders up to 30 feet
- Ability to frequently climb, bend, kneel, lift, and operate a vehicle
- Strong customer service skills
