HVAC Technician
Talascend is currently seeking an HVAC Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Wilmington, Massachusetts.
Overview
This role involves operating, inspecting, and maintaining HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment across multiple facilities to ensure efficient and safe operation. The technician will perform repairs, inspections, and respond to emergencies while keeping detailed records and ensuring compliance with safety standards and building systems management.
Responsibilities
- Operate, inspect, and maintain all HVAC, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in assigned facilities
- Perform ongoing preventive and corrective work orders on facility systems and equipment
- Monitor and respond to alarms within building automation systems such as Siemens, Schneider, and Metasys
- Maintain, operate, and repair HVAC systems, electrical distribution, plumbing, and related building systems
- Conduct facility inspections and report on conditions impacting client occupancy and operations
- Respond effectively to emergencies
- Prepare and submit reports summarizing work performed, conditions found, and recommended actions
- Familiarize with building equipment and systems including fire/life safety systems
- Lift up to 80 lbs. and climb up to 30 ft. ladders as needed
Qualifications
- EPA Universal 608 Certification
- At least 4 years of technical experience in building engineering, specifically in HVAC, plumbing, and electrical equipment repair and maintenance
- Valid state driver’s license
- Ability to pass INA (animal social media check) and complete required forms
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs. and climb up to 30 ft. ladders
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of overall mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP) and HVAC system design and application
- Experience managing work orders using CMMS technology
- Experience working in a service-related role within commercial facilities
This position involves a rotating schedule with options including Monday-Thursday or Tuesday-Friday shifts, with off days on weekends or Mondays. The role requires on-call availability for a 5-6 week rotation.
