Talascend is currently seeking a Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Overview
The manufacturing engineer role involves applying technical expertise to develop, analyze, and improve manufacturing processes, ensuring high quality and efficiency in production. The position supports daily manufacturing activities, process optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives within a challenging environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide test and manufacturing support for inertial measurement units and related products.
- Perform yield and performance data analysis to monitor process capability and product health trends.
- Utilize CAMP, Lean, and Six-Sigma methodologies to govern engineering standard work practices.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues, facilitate issue identification and analysis.
- Develop improvements in product design and manufacturing processes for cost and cycle time reductions.
- Support knowledge for test equipment and preventative maintenance plans to maintain factory capacity and efficient product flow.
- Facilitate a self-driven workforce culture to achieve RTY, BIQ, COPQ, and other SQDIC goals.
- Test products and software as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM field
- 5+ years experience in manufacturing, test, fabrication, or assembly processes
- Must be a U.S citizen due to contractual requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Product, process, manufacturing, or test engineering experience
- Ability to balance priorities in daily tasks and strategic projects
- Hands-on work ethic with initiative and ownership of responsibilities
- Ability to collaborate well with team members
- Strong analytical skills to identify subtle interrelationships and patterns
- Effective communication skills for conveying information clearly
- Knowledge of RCCA, Lean, Six Sigma, and FMEA tools and methodologies
