Talascend is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer for a contract opportunity with our client in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Overview
The Senior Manufacturing Engineer applies technical expertise to ensure product integrity and manufacturing output while leading continuous improvement initiatives. The role involves developing and modifying manufacturing processes, analyzing process equipment needs, and supporting daily production activities, particularly in the production and return goods diagnosis of inertial sensors and IMUs.
Responsibilities
- Provide test and manufacturing support for RLG and MEMS based inertial measurement units (IMUs).
- Perform yield and performance data analysis to monitor process capability and product health trends.
- Utilize CAMP, Lean, and Six-Sigma methodologies to govern engineering standard work practices.
- Investigate and resolve technical issues, facilitate issue identification and analysis.
- Develop improvements in product design and manufacturing and assembly processes for cost and cycle time reductions.
- Support knowledge for test equipment and preventative maintenance plans to maintain factory capacity and efficient product flow.
- Facilitate a self-driven work force culture to achieve RTY, BIQ, COPQ, and other SQDIC goals.
- Test products and software.
- Complete failure analysis, manufacturing assembly, and test on returned goods.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in STEM field.
- 5+ years experience in manufacturing, test, fabrication, or assembly processes.
- Must be a U.S. citizen due to contractual requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the duties of this position through relevant experience, training, or education.
