Talascend is currently seeking a Facilities Technician for a contract opportunity with our client in Tualatin, Oregon.
Overview
The main function of a facilities technician is to provide general maintenance support for the assigned buildings, ensuring safety, security, and proper functionality through preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs.
Responsibilities
- Monitor the facility to ensure that it remains safe, secure, and well-maintained.
- Troubleshoot power, HVAC systems and controls, and mechanical systems.
- Maintain general and preventative maintenance, carpentry, plumbing systems, and vendor management.
- Replace lighting system bulbs and ballasts as needed.
- Move office furniture, machinery, equipment, and other materials as requested.
- Complete weekly and monthly preventative maintenance tasks.
- Perform general handyman repairs and support with miscellaneous tasks around the site closing.
- Support escorting contractors and ensure compliance with PPE requirements.
- Perform tasks such as swapping door handles, securing netting, and other miscellaneous duties.
- Complete checklists and reports in a timely fashion.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2-4 years of relevant experience required.
- Certification in HVAC or PIT certification, or relevant experience is a plus.
- Experience with Corrigo is also beneficial but not required.
- Interpersonal skills, attention to detail, and problem-solving skills.
- Basic ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair, and maintenance.
