Talascend is currently seeking a Structural Engineer for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Dallas, Texas.
Overview
The structural engineer will contribute to the creation of world-class designs across various projects, including power, process, healthcare, airports, institutional, industrial, military, and commercial facilities. They will work closely with project teams throughout the design and construction phases, ensuring structural plans meet project requirements and client needs.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural design from conceptual phase through design completion.
- Modify and review production drawings for diverse projects, including power plants, healthcare facilities, airports, and military facilities.
- Design structural components tailored to project specifications and client requirements.
- Apply knowledge of structural engineering principles, codes, and practices within the industry.
- Research and compile project-related data as needed by project managers.
- Update drawings using CAD software to ensure accuracy.
- Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
- Conduct field inspections, measurements, and calculations for public and private clients.
- Perform additional duties as assigned and comply with company policies and standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited program.
- Minimum of 3 years of structural engineering experience.
- Proficient in structural analysis programs (e.g., RISA 3D), AutoCAD, ETABS, SAFE, Revit, and Tekla.
- Strong knowledge of engineering techniques, procedures, and codes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work methodically, analytically, and demonstrate critical thinking skills.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineers in Training (EIT) certification.
