Talascend is currently seeking a Financial Analyst for a long-term contract opportunity with our client in Plano, Texas.

Overview

The financial analyst will be responsible for managing accounts payable and receivable processes, developing financial models, and analyzing financial data to support business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Managing and owning the team's AP/AR processes.
  • Working within strict timelines and cadences to reconcile financial data and request reimbursements.
  • Developing and maintaining financial models, forecasts, and budgets to support business planning and decision-making.
  • Analyzing financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue growth.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather data, validate assumptions, and ensure accuracy in financial reports.
  • Preparing and presenting monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to stakeholders.
  • Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) and providing insights to improve financial performance.
  • Supporting ad-hoc financial analysis and reporting as needed.
  • Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • 0-4 years of experience in financial planning, analysis, or a similar role.
  • Experience with advanced Excel functions (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, macros).
  • Experience with monthly P&L reconciliation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, critical thinking, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in AP/AR processes with knowledge of PO, refund, warranty processes.
  • Ability to process escalations around billing.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in consumer electronics or warranty industries is a plus.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present findings to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, budgeting, and forecasting tools (e.g., Excel, SAP, Oracle).
