Talascend is currently seeking a Financial Analyst for a contract opportunity with our client in Hazelwood, Missouri.

Overview

This role is responsible for providing support for the brands commercial expenses, including monthly financial close, accruals, forecasting, and reporting. The position involves assisting with financial information requests, ensuring timely completion, and reviewing actual results for accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing the profit and loss statement and balance sheet forecasts and budgets
  • Manage quarterly headcount and payroll forecast processes with departmental leaders, human resources, and financial planning and analysis team members
  • Support brands commercial expenses in reviewing and reporting actual results during monthly financial close
  • Develop strong relationships with department leads
  • Approve purchase order coding and maintain commitment logs for accrual entries
  • Participate in the review of actual results each month and analyze results versus forecast, budget, and prior year for internal stakeholders
  • Provide accurate and timely responses to internal auditor requests
  • Assist with ad hoc projects or requests for financial information
  • Provide business support and advice emphasizing financial accountability and controls
  • Train non-financial business partners on financial terminology and concepts
  • Load, reconcile, and prepare supporting documentation for monthly and quarterly forecast updates

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required in accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with GAAP, financial planning, accounting, and financial systems

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP and onestream or hyperion systems
  • Strong accounting, analytical, and financial skills
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and planning skills
  • Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interpret data and provide sound business recommendations
  • Ability to multi-task and work virtually
